War of Genesis: Idle Loot Release Date and Early Access Status
Early Access began on September 10, 2026 and the launch was delayed by one hour on the day. Includes the official wording, price, platform and full-version plans.

War of Genesis: Idle Loot entered Early Access on September 10, 2026. It is free to play and currently ships for Windows PC only. On launch day the developer pushed the planned server opening back by one hour, to 07:00 UTC, to finish final checks and stabilisation work. The developer says Early Access is expected to last roughly up to two months, while stating explicitly that the period may be adjusted — so treat it as an estimate, not a promise.
A complete launch timeline
The official announcements document the whole run-up, and every line below can be checked against Steam’s official news feed:
| Date | What the developer announced |
|---|---|
| 2026-08-12 | The Steam store page went live, along with a wishlist and share event |
| 2026-08-24 | Round one of the event closed and a second round opened |
| 2026-09-02 | The Early Access date was confirmed as September 10 |
| 2026-09-09 | Opening schedule published: 06:00 UTC / 15:00 KST on September 10 |
| 2026-09-10 | One-hour delay announced: 15:00 KST became 16:00 KST (07:00 UTC) for final checks and stabilisation |
That history has a practical use. If you ever get stuck on the login screen, the first thing to check is whether a new official announcement exists, not whether your PC is at fault. The ordered checklist is in system requirements and launch fixes.
What you can play right now
The developer’s own Early Access note describes the current state this way: the core fun is playable, covering real-time item collection on your desktop, character growth, and player-to-player trading through the Steam Community Market. The same note says some content and features are still in development and may be added or adjusted.
The platform and price facts are simple:
- Platform: Windows only. The Steam API reports
windows: true, mac: false, linux: false, and Steam Deck compatibility is still listed as unknown. - Price: Free To Play. The listing also carries an
In-App Purchasestag, and the developer states that “some in-game content may be offered as paid items (such as passes)”. - Genre tags: Action, Casual, RPG, Free To Play, Early Access.
- Achievements: 82 Steam achievements in total.
The free-versus-paid boundary is broken down in free and paid content.
The full-version plan, in the developer’s own four points
This is one of the more candid parts of the store page, and all four points come from the Early Access Q&A:
- Content expansion: additional farming areas, growth stages and a variety of content.
- Economy and trading: stabilise the player-to-player trading system and keep tuning the economy.
- Convenience: keep improving the desktop overlay UI and overall ease of control.
- Content volume: expand the depth of progression and the things there are to enjoy.
Why this game chose Early Access
The reasoning is worth separating from the usual “the game is unfinished” line. The developer states that a trade-enabled economy can only be tested and refined through the market flow and farming balance that real players create together, so they wanted to check and fine-tune farming and economy balance publicly before full release.
That has two consequences for you. First, market rules, drop balance and pricing structures will move during Early Access, so today’s numbers are not final. Second, the developer names the Steam discussion boards and Discord as the feedback channels, and says changes are communicated through Steam announcements.
Start now or wait?
The developer states that Early Access and the full version can both be played for free, so “wait and save money” is not a real argument here. What is worth weighing is everything else:
- whether the current content volume is enough for you, given that balance will keep shifting;
- whether you mind a trading market that is still being tuned;
- how much tolerance you have for launch-period friction — players were already reporting stalled logins and failed launches on the official forum in the first days.
If those three are acceptable, there is no extra cost to starting now. The store page is here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4891320/War_of_Genesis_Idle_Loot/
A note on volatile numbers
This wiki does not present Steam review ratios, concurrent player counts, peak counts or chart positions as fixed facts. Those figures change daily and would be stale almost immediately. Check the Steam store page or Steam’s own stats when you need them. Every fact on this page was verified on 2026-09-11.
