If your machine runs 64-bit Windows 10 or newer, has 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GT 1030 / Intel Iris Xe / Radeon Vega 8 class GPU and 3 GB of free space, it will run this game. The recommended configuration is 16 GB of RAM with a GTX 1050 Ti class GPU.

It is Windows only: Steam marks macOS and Linux as unsupported, and Steam Deck compatibility is currently listed as unknown. If the client stalls on the login screen, check your connection and Steam client state first, then look for a fresh announcement on the official Steam forum.

Both columns below come straight from the Steam store page’s System Requirements section, with no inference added:

One caution: 3 GB is the space the store asks you to have free, not a measured install size. Players have opened a Game size thread on the official forum, but the developer has not answered, so this wiki will not present 3 GB as an exact download or install footprint.

The platform limit: Windows only

Steam’s official API returns windows: true, mac: false, linux: false. That means:

  • macOS and Linux cannot currently play it;
  • Steam Deck status is Unknown, which is neither a promise nor a refusal;
  • the build is 64-bit, so a 32-bit OS does not qualify.

Why a game that looks single-player wants a connection

A fair question, since the hero fights on its own. The answer is that the game is not single-player only. Steam’s own category list includes:

  • Multi-player, PvP and Online PvP;
  • an in-game Battlefield panel with Arena, World Boss and Raid tabs;
  • alliance content, which is inherently online.

So the broadband requirement in the minimum spec is real rather than a copy-paste mistake. The three multiplayer modes are compared in Arena PvP.

Installing and first launch

The game is Free To Play, so there is nothing to buy:

  1. Open the store page at https://store.steampowered.com/app/4891320/War_of_Genesis_Idle_Loot/ and confirm it reads as free to play.
  2. Claim it and install it from your Steam library.
  3. On launch you will not get a normal window: it overlays your desktop transparently and occupies a corner of the screen.
  4. The HUD shown in the official screenshots displays the current stage (for example Normal 4-2) and a kill counter, which is how you confirm it is working.

An ordered checklist for a stalled login or a failed launch

The order below is assembled from what players actually reported on the official forum. It is a troubleshooting suggestion, not a developer-published fix — no official source explains the cause of these failures.

  1. Check your connection. The minimum spec explicitly requires broadband.
  2. Confirm the Steam client itself is signed in. The single most common report is being stuck on “Logging in to Steam”.
  3. Retry and wait. Launch-period load alone causes long waits; on launch day the developer delayed the server opening by an hour specifically for stabilisation.
  4. Check the official forum for a fresh announcement. The developer says changes are communicated through Steam announcements, and the forum is the named feedback channel.
  5. File a support ticket. The official customer support form is at https://genesis-idleloot.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new .

What the developer has not explained

So you are not misled by confident-sounding guides, here is what is genuinely unknown:

  • the cause of stalled logins and any official fix: not published;
  • the real install size: not published (the store only gives a free-space figure);
  • regional network restrictions: not verified, so this wiki will not claim the game connects everywhere;
  • controller or other peripheral support: not published.

All specification and platform facts were verified on 2026-09-11. The game is in Early Access, so later updates may change them.
