War of Genesis: Idle Loot Synthesis and Dismantle Explained

The in-game text is explicit: combine same-grade items to get the next grade, up to Tier 6. Plus the farm, sort, combine, dismantle loop and when to dismantle.

The combine rule is stated inside the game itself: combine items of the same grade to obtain an item of the next grade. It sits next to Dismantle in the Equipment Forge, with an Auto Register button beside them, and the achievements show grades can be pushed all the way to Tier 6. The success rate, the number of items required and any pity system are not published, so any guide quoting a specific percentage is guessing.

What is actually in the Equipment Forge panel

The official store screenshot shows a panel with only three interactive elements, which makes it easy to describe precisely:

ElementWhat it doesOfficial backing
Combine tabTurns same-grade items into the next gradeThe in-game tooltip text
Dismantle tabRecycles gear you do not needThe tab label itself
Auto Register buttonFills in materials automaticallyThe button in the screenshot

The explanatory line in the interface is the hardest evidence on this page. In full: “Combine items of the same grade to obtain an item of the next grade.” That sentence is both the rule and the basis for everything below.

How high grades can go

The achievement list backs this line, so it can be quoted safely:

  • Not Bad for a Fusion: craft at least one Tier 4 item through synthesis;
  • A Masterpiece from Synthesis: at least one Tier 5;
  • Not Synthesis—A Miracle: at least one Tier 6.

The volume achievements also show the loop is meant to run for a long time: Combine First, Think Later (10 times), Synthesis Feels So Good (1,000) and A Synthesis Master Never Stops (5,000).

One distinction matters: Tier 6 appears only in the achievements. In the Steam Community Market sample taken on 2026-09-11 the grades actually seen were Tier 3 to Tier 5, with no Tier 6 listings. So “synthesis can reach Tier 6” is achievement evidence, while “Tier 5 is common on the market” is market observation. Do not blend the two.

Where dismantling fits

Dismantling is an official system with its own volume achievements: Useless? Dismantle It! (10 times), Breaking Things Is a Skill Too (1,000) and Completely Dismantled (5,000).

What dismantling returns is not published. What can be confirmed is its position: it sits in the same panel as combining, so it is the other half of gear recycling. In practice its job is to clear space and push unusable gear back into the loop.

The loop you can actually run: farm, sort, combine, dismantle

The sequence below is a recommended route assembled from the interface and the confirmed rules. It is not an official tutorial.

  1. Farm. Let stages run; gear keeps dropping. The store copy says it plainly: “As you run stages, gear pours in.”
  2. Sort. Open the bag and character panel and group items that share a grade and slot.
  3. Combine. Send a group to Combine, aiming for a grade above what you are wearing.
  4. Dismantle. Anything that cannot be grouped, or that sits below your current grade, goes to Dismantle.
  5. Repeat. The achievement ceiling is 5,000 combines, which tells you the loop is the game.

Choosing between combining and dismantling

If you do not want to deliberate each time, use this rule:

  • Can be grouped, and the result would outrank what you wear → combine. It is the only route that raises a grade.
  • Cannot be grouped, or the result would not outrank what you wear → dismantle. Holding it only takes space.
  • An empty slot is still unfilled → fill the slot first. An empty slot returns nothing.

The full slot and grade structure is in weapons and gear, and judging a single item is covered in best gear and stat priority.

What the developer has not published

This section matters, because it is what separates this page from guides that only look more detailed:

  • Success rate: not published. Any specific percentage is unreliable.
  • Number of items required: not published. A pre-launch creator video mentions a “nine into one” figure, but that was describing a different game as a comparison and does not apply here.
  • Pity system: not published.
  • Dismantle output: not published.
  • Exact behaviour of Auto Register: only that the button exists.

The developer says changes are communicated through Steam announcements, so these gaps may close later. Everything here was verified on 2026-09-11.
